These studies examine the unique ornament of The Sullivan Center, previously known as the Carson, Pirie, Scott and Company Building. Architect Louis Sullivan adorned it with motifs  inspired by nature. It is an ornament that is of the Sullivan Style, but is unique in its own way and inextricably linked to this building. Because of this ornament, the building is iconic and immediately recognizable.
